Waikiki Beach is located in the City and County of Honolulu on the south shore of the Island Oahu, Hawaii. In early Hawaii, Waikiki was a large area than 1.5 miles which it encompasses today. In old Waikiki, much of its swampland included the neighboring valley’s Manoa and Palolo. In mid 1800s, Waikiki served as a vacation retreat for the kingdom royalty to which foreign visitors started to visit in 1830s.
