Apart from swimming and playing in the sand, there are other favorite activities to be enjoyed in and around Temara Town. This is a place which conserves the historical and cultural heritage of Morocco Country. There is an old ‘Kasbah’ in Temara, which was formerly a home to an ancient tribe ‘Oudayah’. A mosque built during the reign of ‘Moulay Ismail’ has survived many seasons and it still stands representing the historical heritage of this region.
‘Temara Zoo’, a National Zoological Park, located northwest of the town, is another must visit place. One can see 1200 species of birds, around 800 species of different mammals and other animals here. Adding to the elephants, lions, jackals, gazelles, desert foxes, monkeys, giraffes and many such animals, there is a lake too where one can see water birds like pelican, ducks and other wading birds. ‘The Royal School of Cavalry’ in Temara town has a magnificent entrance made with three arches and the very big stable with the capacity to shelter 300 horses is a worth visiting place.
An outdoor cultural area, named after and built in the honor of Mohammed Kacimi, a well known painter of Morocco from Temara provides a platform and seating facility for consorts and other music performances. On the main Temara beach there are pubs and discos where tourists can party and enjoy the night life. ‘Pleasure Port’ of ‘Sables d'Or’ is yet another tourist place where one can also witness fishery.
