Morro de Sao Paulo is a place located at the northern end of Tinhare Island, Bahia; which takes 60 km by sea and 272 km by route from the city of Salvador. There are only two ways to go to the beach air and ship. Morro de Sao Paulo has few wonderful beaches known for its beauty and variety, majority of them can be reached by foot. Starting from north the beaches are named sequentially as first, second, third, fourth and fifth beach.
Atlantic rainforest covers the inland of the island which protects the southern area of the island; which has miles of sand, coastal lowlands, mangrove swamps and marshes. There are no cars allowed at Morro de Sao Paulo hence one has to travel by feet, boat, tractor and horseback.
The First Beach (also known as The Primeira Praia), is 500 m long with white colored soft sand. This is the smallest beach among all other beaches.
The Second Beach (also known as Segunda Praia), is famous for parties under the moon light (called as luaus) where majorly younger generation gather for this party around the world. This beach is also for famous for its low tides and natural pool.
