About La Playa de la Caleta Beach

La Playa de la Caleta is a small but beautiful beach in the city of Cadiz, Spain.  Also known as Caleta beach, it is one of the most loved and popular beaches of Spain. Also called as Baño de la Viña, due to it its proximity to La Viña neighborhood, the beach has always been an inspiration for carnival songs for its ethereal beauty. The beach, situated in the Old City between the San Sebastian and Santa Catalina castles, is thirty meters wide and four hundred meters long. The beach has also featured in number of recent movies like Captain Alatriste, Manolete and the very popular Bond movie Die Another Day, which starred famous Hollywood actors Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry.

Events at Caleta Beach : The Carnival of Cadiz is the biggest event of the city. It is considered to be the third largest carnival in the world after the Rio de Janeiro and Trinidad carnivals.
